The biggest reason for serving in Upstreet is the kids. I truly love watching kids start taking first steps in understanding and accepting the love of Jesus. Over the years from K to 5th grade the lights start coming on. Kids go from repeating words in worship to worshiping God with their words in song. The Upstreet staff and volunteers are so supportive and willing to go the extra mile for everyone. I believe that I get more out of serving in Upstreet than those I have the privilege to serve. Upstreet is such a critical part of building the formative years faith journey. When I was nudged to serve and I met with Meghan and Kelly they took the time to get to know me and asked why I wanted to serve and in what way. I was not really sure and said I wanted to do something part time. Kelly pushed back and said I needed to be a small group leader, she was right. That was a great experience and many years later I still see and keep in touch with some of those kids from years ago. Serving in Upstreet is life changing for the better!
